The worst online shopping experience I have had December 28, 2008 I had the worse online shopping experience with this product. First of all, the product did not arrive until over a week after the promised delivery date. Second, the box was already openned and resealed with one key item missing. A request for the missing part went unanswered by either Amazon or the manufacture. Hope this was a exception.
Powerful Blast December 18, 2008 I have an old house with some quirky plumbing. My tub often clogs. This is an ingenious little device. I bought the older version of this and loved it. This version is better because there are no attachments to manually hold on. So if you like the old model, you'll like this one better.
Having said that, this will not clear all clogs. My clogs are often due to hair and it will move them but not necessarily blast them away. I highly recommend a $1.98 gizmo called Zip-It that works wonders for clogs(got mine at the midwest chain Menards). Used in conjunction with another tool the Air Blaster can be very effective. For small clogs it works really well. Do NOT over pump it. It also traps water in the top, so shake it off in the tub or sink when you're done and before you store it. I'm not sure how well this would work on really small sinks or sinks with low angled faucets.
Air Powered Wonder! November 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My master vanity has been draining slowly for over a month. We tried using a plunger with some luck. It would make the flow a little better for about a week and then start backing up again. We have a lot of stuff under our sink and I didn't enjoy the though of removing everything to take the P-Trap off and clean it out, so I put if off day after day.
Then one day last week while at my friends house, I saw this drain buster in her laundry room. She said it works great and said I could borrow it. She told me to pump it seven times and put the correct size drain adapter on the end and it would do the job.
This morning I went to our master vanity and ran hot water till it started to back up. I pumped the blaster seven times and angled it down into the drain. The tip angles to accommodate the position that you will have to put it at to fit it under your faucet. I pressed down firmly to make sure I had a good seal and pulled the trigger! Wow an explosion of black junk came out and all over the mirror, our toothbrushes, Q-tips, tissue holder and everything else that was on the counter. Amazingly none was on me, but what a huge mess. I looked down and the water was rushing down the drain. It worked.
After cleaning the vanity and everything on it, I decided to blast the other drains in our house including the kids lavatory. This time I only pumped it 3 times at first and worked my way up to seven pumps. I also draped an old towel over the sink and blaster right before pulling the trigger. I highly recommend you do this when you are using it on sinks. I changed the tip adapter to the larger one and also did the showers and kitchen sink. Boy what a difference. I came to Amazon to order my own! We are on a septic system and I like the fact that I'm not using caustic chemicals (that often times don't work).
One other bit of info that will help is that you may need to remove the drain stopper on your sink. If yours is attached inside the pipes like mine was you will have to reach under the sink and unscrew the cap that holds the ball and rod in place. If you pull the rod out from the pipe a little you can then pull your drain stopper up out of the drain assembly. Don't forget to temporarily tighten the ball/rod and cap back while you blast your drain.
A pile of made in china excrement August 31, 2008 This is probably the worst item that I have ever purchased. It was new stock and when opened the plunger housing had cracks inside that were not visible and the air pump did not work. I threw it in the trash which is where it came from.Jobar Air Blaster Power Drain Cleaner
Save Your Money!!!!!! June 25, 2008 This product did not work at all. My bathtub was stopped up for almost two (2) weeks. I followed the directions as suggested. All that it did was make a noise and splash dirty bathtub water all over me. I would not recommend this to my worse enemy.
